Popular Diets - Medifast Success Stories - What Do All of These Folks Have in Common?

In the past, I’ve been asked about the “secrets’ to medifast success. People often want to know why one person can lose enough weight to drastically change their appearance while another will only have so / so results. Obviously, I can’t possibly know each person who is thrilled with their results, but I have spent a lot of time on weight loss forums, I’ve read tons of medifast blogs, and I have the advantage of my own experience. I’ve learned from all of this that the people with the best results share some of the same attributes, characteristics and attitudes. Of course, not everything is the same, but some important variables often are. In the following article, I will discuss the things that a lot of these folks share in the hopes that something here will inspire and help you.

Success With Medifast Is Affected By Attitude, But Having A Positive One In The Beginning Isn’t As Necessary As You Might Think: Not every one who has been successful started medifast absolutely sure that this diet was going to be “the one.” In fact, I think that this is the exception rather than the rule. In fact, most people who are starting a new diet have been on so many others before this. And, the reason that they are starting a new diet is that they have failed on previous ones.

So, it would be very difficult, even after doing a lot of research and reading positive case studies, to just blindly know that things are going to be different this time. Your past experiences are obviously going to shape the attitudes that you have today. And, the attitude that you have to do is bound to be reluctant.

But, the people who are happy with their medifast results don’t let these doubts get in their way. They go ahead and plunge forward anyway, even if they think that the end might end up with the same old disappointing result. And, in my experience, usually what happens is that no one is as surprised as them when they start to lose some weight. I can tell you from my own personal experience my thought process was something like this: “Well, I did lose almost five pounds in a week. It was probably water though. But, it sure wouldn’t hurt to see what happens the next week.”

See, my attitude still wasn’t all that great the second week. I still didn’t believe. But, I kept going, didn’t I? And this is the whole key - keeping at it because you want to see what happens next. It really doesn’t matter what your thought process is or whether you believe that this is fluke or not. All that really matter is that you keep going. Because once you go off the diet, you’re probably not going to lose weight because you are doing nothing differently.

Does it seem strange to anyone that the government is begging you to eat no more than a quarter of your calories in the form of sugar? Prior to the 1900’s, the average consumption of sugar was no more than 5 pounds per year… it’s currently around 135 pounds per year!

In fact, if you want to eat healthy, its actually quite hard to come up to the levels of carbohydrates that the USDA is recommending, unless you eat a lot of junk food.

You Don’t Have To Embrace A New And Healthy Lifestyle, But You Should Be Receptive When It Begins To Call Your Name: The thing about medifast is that it’s sneaky. It eventually becomes a habit even if you never expected or intended for it to be. Frankly, when I try to eat my beloved Frostie treat today, it tastes entirely too sweet. It’s no longer appealing to me. And, I’m so excited to be wearing cute clothes now that the thought of doing anything to make me take a few steps backward seem really distasteful.

I didn’t always have this attitude. It was very gradual. And, I had little labels for myself that were very sabotaging. I’d think things like “I’m not an athlete,” “I wasn’t made to be skinny,” etc. Well guess what? I’m pretty lean now and I have toned arms and abs. So maybe I wasn’t athletic in the past and maybe I’ll never love the gym, but I do OK. I’m athletic enough to get the job done.

When you begin to be proud of yourself, don’t let that negative self talk start to whisper to you. Be willing to reevaluate what you think of yourself. And, should you begin to feel a little healthier, stronger, or conscious, embrace this. You’ve worked hard for it and you deserve it. Folks who like their results on this diet eventually come to learn that the results don’t lie. If you’ve achieved them, it’s because you deserve it
